To the Review!
What do you get when you cross zombie style gore with a superhero movie? The Punisher: Warzone. If I was going to give you a one word description of the movie: Brutal. So far this is probably the most brutal superhero movie released to date. Tons of blood and gore, really it's a thing of beauty.
Before I saw this movie I was a little apprehesive. In the Trailer the Frank Castle (Ray Stevenson) seems to not be a fit, but the more I saw of him, the more I believed that he was as close to the Punisher as an actor can get. He captured, fairly closely, the look and the feel of the Punisher, a man who you respect and envy...but a man you would never want to be.
The acting was good, not believable...but in a movie like The Punisher, this is acceptable. They all fit their parts well, the only real complaint I had was with Looney Bin Jim (Doug Hutchison) While he dig well with the capturing of crazy, his part just didn't blend well enough with the rest of the movie. Other than that, I was very happy with this aspect of the movie.
I would like to go back to the the previous mention of the gory. Good Lord, what a crazy buncha stuff this was. When I'm cracking up in maniac glee, something right is happening. So, the forumla for this movie (this might be somethning I continue with)
1/2 ton blood/gore + badguy + Superhero = Brutal entertainment
Overall, I was entertained by the movie, which is the most important thing to me. Entertainment wish I give this movie:
8 kidneys with applesauce out of 10
